Online Privacy. Social Credit: What’s Your Rating? Digital Identity

The Chinese communist party has created a social credit system.
The simple summary is that this system will track everything you do and give you a score or rating that measures how trustworthy you are based on how well you have behaved in society.
Things that will negatively impact your score include things like playing loud music, eating on public transport, jaywalking, making reservations, and not showing up, failing to correctly sort your personal waste. On the other hand, you can increase your score by volunteering time to a charity or donating blood.
So, will this happen in western countries? Yes, it will. But I’m not happy about it. Why? Because we will all be rated according to a point system but who will decide how many points should be assigned to each social behavior?
These decisions should not be made by a central government. They should be made democratically by the people. If you want to learn more about how we can use technology to put more power in the hands of the people, check out my video about the Wolf Party.
